The GVD membership consists of 80 members most of whom have direct experience of designing and analysing population-based studies of eye disease. This brings a unique technical expertise when assessing data sources for quality of methods and population-representativeness. The group have worked closely with the WHO to statistically model the data in the provision of estimates for the global, regional and country level burden of vision loss.
